[TDSS-2015] - Tsunami Decision Support Systems - 2015

JRC Ispra, 2-3 July 2015

I would like to announce a workshop that JRC is organizing. It is named Tsunami Decision Support Systems (TDSS) 2015, and will take place on Thursday 2 and Friday 3 July 2015 at the Joint Research centre, Ispra, Italy in the European Crisis Management Laboratory (coordinates lat/lon: 45.8100179,8.6307413  or http://goo.gl/MkzgW0 ), located along the Maggiore Lake, north of Milano (about 60 km from the Milano EXPO area, which will open 1st May 2015).

The objective of this workshop is to invite experts of Tsunami Warning Centers as well as system providers or end users (Civil Protection), to show the status of the technology in this field, the specific requirements and the benefits in the use of one or another technological solution. What are the main features of the various systems and is there a software suite covering the whole workflow of procedures essential in crisis room operations (e.g., prioritisation, decision support, scheduling, resource planning, communications, etc.). In the concept of the JRC Workshops, this should be more a demo of the software features rather than a standard presentation, so we would like to invite the participants to present the tools they are using in the most realistic way, if possible.
